You are in for a surprise regarding antichrist. There are only 4 verses where the word ‘antichrist’ appears in Scripture.
I John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
I John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
I John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
II John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
So, Scripture teaches that antichrist is a spirit and that it is already ‘in the world.’
We find the first mention of the ‘sons of God’ in Genesis 6:4:
Genesis 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
And then we see the ‘man of sin’ being referred to as the ‘son of perdition’ in the verses below:
II Thessalonians 2:2-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
So, Scripture also teaches that antichrist is man.
Revelation 9:1-3 The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. 2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss.
The following describes the Nephilim offspring:
Revelation 9:7-10 The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. 8 Their hair was like women’s hair, and their teeth were like lions’ teeth. 9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. 10 They had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months.
Revelation 9:11 They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek is Apollyon (that is, Destroyer).
Perdition and Abaddon both mean destruction, destroyer. Therefore, it seems that ‘THE ANTICHRIST’ that everyone thinks is some ‘man’ that is somewhere in power at this time is a TOTALLY FALSE misconception. It also seems as though ‘Satan’ was Lucifer in heaven and his name was changed to Abaddon after his fall. God changed names in the Bible for good, Jacob to Israel for example, and apparently it works both ways.
Which means Revelation 20:1-3 has already been fulfilled (the latter part of the chapter being future tense after Abaddon’s (satan’s) reign as the 8th king over the inhabitants of the earth):
Revelation 20:1-3 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.
Revelation 17:11 The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.
So, most of the evil and deception we see in the world today comes from ancient Babylon (Jezebel), the cohort in coordination with her object of worship, Abaddon (Baal, Satan, etc.):
Revelation 17:16 The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
So, Abaddon will ascend from the bottomless pit with these beings (his ‘children’). After this, the prostitute, Jezebel, will be destroyed and then Abaddon will become the 8th king after the mid-point of the tribulation. Abaddon, ‘Satan’ as we know him, is literally going to be unleashed to rule the world. These Nephilim with Abaddon as their reigning king are going to wreak more havoc than any human could possibly bear if it were not for the protection of the Holy Spirit and the shortening of the days for the elect!
Revelation 17:8 The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come.
Matthew 24:22 If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
Matthew 24:37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
*This is one part of the paper I have been writing for a couple of weeks now. I am currently working on the break down of the other Kingdoms as described in Daniel 7 and also the breakdown of the tribulation portion that is described in Revelation 13, as these two chapters of Scripture coincide. I have no idea when I will be done as it is some deep prophecy. I just thought this section deserved it’s own post.
